30 day challenge: Learning Czech

I’ve been living in the Czech Republic for almost two months, and I haven’t learned too many words. So I decided to add a new challenge; learn Czech for a hour every day. If I’m only learning 10 words a day I will know 300 words on the end of my 30 day challenge!

Please keep me motivated, and ask me how I’m doing (in Czech).

Here is some language learning motivation:

P.s. Having a small conversation with the cashier at the supermarket, listening to a Czech conversation/radio and watching a movie in Czech, even with English subtitles is also studying, I need to give myself a “tool to cheat” for times with low motivation!

Edit:

I would like to make my goal a little more smart, focusing on the measurable part:

  • Learn 300 words on memrise (22/300)
  • Being able to ask things to improve my language ability, like how is this called, how do I pronounce and what does that mean.
  • Being able to have a small conversation with the cleaning ladies in the hostel
  • Count to 1000
  • Have a few classes with native Czech teachers
  • Being able to understand the everyday functions of Facebook in Czech
  • Not having to use English in a restaurant, supermarket and a clothes shop. (or being able to use 80% of the time Czech in any shop).
  • Invest in study material
